Poor Sita Desi. Her husband Apu has been killed in his prime by a slurpee machine. Her brother-in-law seems to be in love with another man. There is this strange woman who keeps lusting after her now that she is a widow. And why is everyone trying to throw her into the fire. Stereotypes regarding sexuality, race, and class are exploded, exploited, and re-envisioned in this dark, funny, and ultimately moving new play as a woman faces a choice to become a goddess or remain a mere mortal amongst the rest of us.
