Enjoy an open bar of wine, beer, cocktails, and tasty hors d’oeuvres as you mingle with 150+ women in the swanky Hudson Terrace Salon (Midtown West), a new venue for the event Rachel Tiven, CEO of Lambda Legal, will also attend and give brief remarks at 7:15 PM about her Trump litigation plans and the Evans SCOTUS employment discrimination case, which asks SCOTUS to find Federal protection for sexual orientation and being "out at work" This is a unique opportunity to share a drink with Tiven in an informal setting. Tickets are $60 ($40 student rate): https://goo.gl/j7rJvQ Lambda Legal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to achieving full recognition of the civil rights of LGBTQ people and everyone living with HIV through impact litigation (at the Federal and State levels), education and public policy work. They also offer a free Legal Help Desk, which answers legal questions about discrimination and offers referrals.
Litigation in the past 2 weeks includes a lawsuit opposing Trump's trans military ban and the upcoming SCOTUS Evans case asking to find that existing Federal employment discrimination statutes protect LGBT people. The employment lawsuit would be an historic event. It will be Tiven's first public appearance after the case announcements.
